Jury awards employee $22M against TQL in wrongful death suit

HAMILTON COUNTY, Ohio (WKRC) – A Hamilton County jury has awarded $22 million against Total Quality Logistics in a wrongful death lawsuit tied to the death of a newborn, according to attorneys for the plaintiff.

The plaintiff’s lawyers said jurors found that TQL’s refusal to let a pregnant employee work from home, as ordered by her doctor, led to the death of her newborn.

In February 2021, the woman had a procedure related to her pregnancy and was considered high-risk. Doctors told her to remain on modified bed rest and work from home. That request was initially denied but later granted after a third party intervened…
