Fort Thomas Museum Shares New Research on Japanese American History

Kevin Eagles, Assistant Director of the Fort Thomas Military and Community Museum, recently presented new research exploring Japanese American resettlement in the Cincinnati area. His work focuses on the lives of Masaji “Stogie” Toki and Takeshi “Tom” Nakamoto, two men whose stories are closely tied to Fort Thomas. Nakamoto trained and served at Fort Thomas before joining the 442nd Regimental Combat Team, while Toki became a civic leader in the Cincinnati region. The research highlights Fort Thomas’s role in the broader story of postwar resilience, service, and community building.
