Covington launches initiative to support businesses during bridge construction

COVINGTON, Ky. (WXIX) – Covington is adopting an initiative to boost small businesses as improvements to the Brent Spence Bridge move forward and the 4th Street Bridge has been demolished.

Bridge construction is expected to last for years, and there is potential for customers from other cities to opt not to travel to Covington as a result. The Bridging the Gap initiative is primarily aimed at marketing businesses to draw those customers to the city.

“Covington’s open for business, we’re easy to get to, and we want to earn and keep your business in a very safe city,” Mayor Ron Washington said Friday.
