Modular homes bring new life to long-vacant Cincinnati lot

EVANSTON, Ohio (WKRC) — A long-vacant corner lot in Evanston is getting a new lease on life with an innovative approach to housing construction.

After sitting empty for more than 20 years, the property at Hackberry and Holloway is now the site of a new modular townhome development. Crews used a crane to lift and place large pre-built sections of the homes, assembling them piece-by-piece on-site.

Unlike traditional construction, the townhomes are being built using modular methods. That means major components of the homes were constructed off-site in Pennsylvania before being transported to Cincinnati for final assembly.
