WEATHER ALERT DAY: Here’s when severe storms are possible Wednesday

We have issued a 9 First Warning Weather Alert Day for Wednesday afternoon and evening. Some of today’s storms could reach severe levels.

Scattered storms will start to push into the western part of the Tri-State by 2 this afternoon. They will then drift east towards Greater Cincinnati around 3 or 4. The strongest storms will then move into our eastern counties closer to 5. The severe weather threat likely ends around 7 this evening, but there will be some leftover scattered showers into the early night.

Any severe storm that reaches severe levels could produce damaging wind and large hail, so bring in any cars you parked outside, and secure outdoor items if possible. While a tornado is possible, one is not likely.

The Storm Prediction Center has our area in a “slight risk” for severe storms, which is a 2 of 5 on the severe risk scale.
