Cincinnati council members propose after-school programs for CPS students

CINCINNATI (WXIX) – Two Cincinnati City Council members are proposing specialized after-school programs for Cincinnati Public Schools students.

Council members Anna Albi and Evan Nolan, chair and vice-chair of the city’s Youth and Human Service committee, say CPS students need options for activities once the dismissal bell rings.

The council members say they want to model the new programs after the Rec at Night program now available to CPS students during the summer months. Albi said as many as 200 students would go to a couple of rec centers in the city over the summer instead of heading out onto the streets where they might run into trouble.
