NKY man arrested, charged with abusing missing 14-year-old, records say

COVINGTON, Ky. (WXIX) – A Northern Kentucky man was arrested after he allegedly strangled and sexually abused a missing 14-year-old, court records show.

Matthew Wade, 40, was arrested by Covington police Monday and charged with sexual abuse, unlawful transaction with a minor, assault and strangulation after a missing juvenile was reported to be at a residence in the 1300 block of Highway Avenue.

According to a Commonwealth of Kentucky citation, officers found Wade, who was knowingly hiding the girl and called her his “friend.” Police also saw drug paraphernalia and the missing teen at the home.

Wade was taken into custody as police searched the residence. Officers said multiple handguns, an estimated 40 psilocybin mushrooms, marijuana and two psilocybin grow operations were seized…
