On Saturday, June 27th, the Henry County Sheriff’s Office requested assistance from the Stewart County Sheriff’s Special Response Team with a barricaded suspect.
The suspect had been involved in a domestic situation and fired shots from the house before barricading himself in the house.
Stewart County Lt. MacDonald and members of the SRT Unit responded to assist Henry County as well as the Hostage Negotiator Capt. Sam Mills. The suspect refused to come out and rather than deploy gas into the house or send in members of the SRT Unit, they were able to deploy the Stewart Co. drone into the house. The drone was able to maneuver throughout the house and locate the suspect. Deputies were able to direct the barricaded suspect out of the house with his hands up unarmed…
