Montgomery Co., Fort Campbell plans fireworks, huge events for USA 250

As the nation marks America’s 250th anniversary, Clarksville-Montgomery County is celebrating with two days of Independence Day festivities and its own history.

Montgomery County residents and visitors can gather downtown for fireworks, live music, carnival rides and family-friendly activities to celebrate the Fourth of July.

Clarksville’s role in shaping American history

Clarksville was founded in 1784, eight years after the Declaration of Independence was signed and 12 years before Tennessee became the 16th state. The city was named after Revolutionary War leader, General George Rogers Clark.
