Dickson County breaks ground on new agricultural center in Bon Aqua

A project three decades in the making got its first big break June 26 when county and state officials gathered for the groundbreaking of the future Dickson County Agricultural Center on Highway 46 S. in Bon Aqua.

The 50,000-square-foot, 34-acre project will serve as an event venue and classroom space, with a focus on agriculture and a place to host exhibitions, concerts, educational forums and other special events.

Besides being a place of learning, the county plans for future rental of the facility to generate revenue. “We’ll be charging the folks, not locals, but ones who want to have concerts and events here. It’s going to be a money maker, so it’ll help fund things like our Future Farmers of America chapter,” said Dickson County Mayor Bob Rial.

James + Associates Engineers & Planners, Inc. president R.
