1. The county did not implement a property tax increase this year. What would warrant one?
Not raising taxes is a priority of mine and our County Commission. I’m very proud of our department heads and elected officials for carefully examining their budgets as well as their new asks. Montgomery County is growing quickly, and growth brings expensive challenges. For example, we are about to open our fourth new school in four years, and in addition to the construction costs, those schools must be staffed and maintained.
2. Would you support a Clarksville Special School District in Montgomery County, like that of the Franklin School District in Williamson County? Why or why not?…
