Four students sponsored by Pennyrile Electric returned from the 2026 Washington Youth Tour after spending a week in Washington, D.C., where they toured historic landmarks, met with congressional leaders and learned about the nation’s government.
Todd County Central High School student Zamiah King received the rare honor of participating in the wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at Arlington National Cemetery following the Changing of the Guard. King said the experience was both humbling and inspiring, giving her a deeper appreciation for the sacrifices of U.S. service members while expanding her understanding of government.
