HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – The 10th Annual Hoptoberfest will be held at Hopkinsville Brewing Co. on Sept. 19 to ring in fall. This day full of activities includes a collaboration with the Christian County Literacy Council and a beard competition.
Starting at 12 p.m., the community is invited to the locally owned downtown brewery for a release of their Hoptoberfest beer and their new stein that was designed by Brushy Fork Creek Gallery in Crofton. The day is packed with events including a strength testing stein-holding competition at 3 p.m. with different categories for adult men, adult women and for those who are 17 years old or younger.
At 5 p.m., the literacy council will host an adult spelling bee which will consist of teams containing two to four people. Each team will have a designated speller who will write their responses within one minute of the word being called.
