Trial is underway in the courtroom of Christian Circuit Judge John Atkins against Eiesha Whitlock, the woman charged with murder in the 2024 death of Daquan Butler.
Several witnesses were called to the stand Tuesday morning as part of the case against Whitlock from the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office, including numerous deputies and detectives from the Christian County Sheriff’s Department. One of those was Detective Sergeant Justin Meacham, who was one of the deputies to respond to the Willow Apartments in Pembroke on December 14, 2024, for reports that a man had been hit by a vehicle.
Meacham says they conducted at least three interviews with witnesses, but defense attorney James Mills argues against that, saying the department seems to have only had Whitlock as a suspect in this case…
