A historic ship that was used in World War II is set to be parked in the Cumberland River in Clarksville, and folks are invited to explore the vessel.
According to Visit Clarksville, the LST 325 is a 328 feet long and 50 feet wide ship that was created by the United States Navy in 1942 in Philadelphia. The ship functioned as an essential transit option for carrying tanks, equipment and troops during D-Day in 1944. The ship also provided emergency aid as ship crews rescued 600 soldiers from the freezing waters of the North Sea after an ally ship was torpedoed…
