DICKSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — Automatic license plate readers have become a hot topic issue across the nation and here at home.
U.S. Sens. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) and Jeff Merkley (D-Ore.), along with U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.), unveiled legislation last week that would ban federal agencies from utilizing ALPRs, pause federal grant funding to state and local governments with ALPR contracts, and allow Americans to sue the federal government for the use of ALPRs.
