Driver injured after car crashes into ravine in Clarksville

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Clarksville first responders and police officers joined forces Wednesday to help a driver whose vehicle ended up at the bottom of a ravine following a crash.

The Clarksville Police Department (CPD) announced shortly after 12:15 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 24 that personnel were at the scene of a single-vehicle crash that took place on the 41A Bypass, near Apostolic Lighthouse Church in the 1600 block of Ashland City Road.

According to authorities, the motorist ran off the road and down the ravine and came to a stop at a creek.

Officials said Clarksville Fire Rescue and CPD officers were working together to get the driver out of the vehicle.

Due to the first responders’ vehicles on the roadway, motorists were told to expect some traffic congestion in the area. However, in another statement released at 3:25 p.m., police said the road was back open.
