MPD: Wanted man by Kentucky Parole Board, Christian County, arrested after police chase

HENDERSON, Ky (WEHT) – Madisonville Police say a wanted man by the Kentucky Parole Board and Christian County was arrested following a chase that included two officers that were almost hit.

Police state on Saturday, just after noon, police tried to pull over an orange Jeep Liberty going north on I-69.

After allegedly refusing to stop, the Jeep fled on Highway 2171 towards Madisonville, and once within city limits, police say the driver swerved towards two MPD officers that were attempting to deploy spike strips.

When the Jeep tried to make a turn at an intersection, officials state he hit another vehicle before coming to a stop. After a brief foot chase and struggle, the suspect, identified as Zyair Clark, 23, of Hopkinsville, was able to be taken into custody.

Clark later allegedly admitted to consuming illegal drugs earlier in the day, and police state Clark was in possession of suspected illegal drugs and a loaded Taurus handgun. Police also learned Clark was a convicted felon who was wanted by the Kentucky Parole Board and Christian County on charges involving Robbery, Kidnapping and Assault.
