Ilja Dragunov faced Trick Williams in the main event of WWE NXT Vengeance Day at the F&M Bank Arena in Clarksville, TN. The two left it all in the ring, bleeding hard way, about a minute into the match. Then Dragunov was able to pull down the win.
The talk among fans shifted to the final angle of the show. Following the match, Carmelo Hayes betrayed Williams , assaulting him with a chair multiple times, ending their long partnership.
The post-main event actions were shrouded in secrecy, with rehearsals limited to those directly involved in organizing the sequence, according to Corey Brennan of Fightful Select .
