Black History Month Spotlight: Clarksville’s Own Kellee Halford, Acclaimed Vocalist and Producer

Kellee Halford, a professional vocalist and vocal producer from Clarksville, is our focus for Black History Month. Halford has a diverse career in music, working in genres from classical to rock. She has worked with The Nashville Symphony, Louis York, and The Shindellas among others.

Halford has performed at notable events, including the 2022 Academy of Country Music Awards where she sang background vocals for Chris Stapleton. In 2023, she performed with Jelly Roll and Wynona Judd at the 57th Country Music Awards.

She also contributed to the Grammy Award-Winning debut album from Tennessee State University’s Aristocrat of Bands in 2023. She was featured on track 6, ‘Me Too’, with the W. Crimm Singers.

In 2023, Halford worked in the film industry, providing supporting vocals for the soundtrack and score of Baz Luhrmann’s biopic ‘Elvis.’

Outside of her career, Halford is a mother to two adult children, Michael and Christian Simms. She aims to inspire and encourage others to strive for excellence in their endeavors.
