The Elkton Planning Commission will hold public hearings on Thursday, March 7, 2024. These hearings will focus on zoning and land use issues in the city.

One main topic is a request from Kevin Zook. He wants to rezone several land parcels, including 309 W Main Street, Elkton, KY and some parcels on Hampton Court. The plan is to change the zoning from R-1 Single Family to R-2 Medium Density Residential.

The hearing will be at 6:00 PM at Elkton City Hall, 71 Public Square, Elkton, Kentucky. The commission will consider all comments sent by letters. For questions or concerns, contact the Elkton Planning Commission at 270-265-9879 Option 4.

The commission will also discuss comprehensive plan amendments. They will suggest zoning or land use regulations for properties affected by annexation.

Properties considered for annexation include a 3.04-acre tract about 1.5 miles west of Elkton, KY on the north side of US Highway 68, and a 5.31-acre tract at the southern boundary of LOT 16 of Riverbend Subdivision. If annexed, the commission suggests zoning these as a B-2 Neighborhood Commercial District and a B-3 Highway Commercial District respectively.
