Local Residents Invited to Battle Anniversary Programs at Fort Donelson Today

Fort Donelson National Battlefield Park in Dover, Tennessee, is holding Battle Anniversary Programs today. These programs commemorate the February 1862 battles at Fort Donelson. The event will include infantry and artillery drills, as well as firing demonstrations. National Park Service Volunteers and Employees will discuss Civil War weaponry and artillery techniques.

The schedule for the day includes artillery programs at 11:00 AM, Noon, and 2:00 PM. Infantry programs will be held at 1:00 PM and 3:00 PM. All activities will be held near the Fort Donelson Visitor Center, located at 120 Fort Donelson Park Road, Dover. Attendees can expect a day filled with engaging activities.

The Fort Donelson team has worked with the Volunteers and Staff of the Stones River National Battlefield to organize these programs. Their knowledge and help have been crucial in planning the event.
