The NASCAR Cup Series wraps up the Round of 12 with the Bank of America Roval 400 on Sunday from the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval.
Five races remain in the 2024 season, and four drivers will be eliminated from the playoffs after Sunday’s race.
The track has undergone some changes, namely through Turns 5, 6 and 7. Turn 7 has turned into a heavy breaking zone heading off into the oval’s regular first turn.
Turns 16 and 17 have become more rigid, with the Turn 16 sharp turn to the right before completing the chicane and the lap.
Here are The Tennessean’s expert picks for Sunday’s NASCAR Cup Series race at the Charlotte Roval:

Mike Organ’s pick: William Byron No. 24 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet
Byron is already locked into the next round of the playoffs as the current point standings leader, and he finished second at the Roval last year. I liked the race he ran last week at Talladega finishing three-wide with Brad Keselowski and winner Ricky Stenhouse Jr. at the end. He will stretch his points lead Sunday.
