History on Tap on Oct. 24 will be all about the 1960s

A History on Tap program titled “Remembering the 1960s, the Times They Were a Changin’” is set for 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 24, at Hopkinsville Brewing Co., 102 E. Fifth St.

“From fashion and music to Civil Rights and Vietnam, this pivotal decade saw great change, progress, and conflict,” Alissa Keller, executive director of the Museums of Historic Hopkinsville-Christian County, said in a press release. “Join alumni from Hopkinsville, Christian County and Attucks high schools as they reflect on memories of everything from dances and hangouts to sporting events and bomb shelters. We hope you’ll add your stories to the conversation, too!”

History on Tap is a free program conducted monthly at the brewery.

Plans are also set for the last History on Tap of 2024. It will be “Ghosts of Christmas Past,” featuring letters to Santa published in the 1980s in the Kentucky New Era. (There will not be a History on Tap in November.)
