Burglars steal common powertrain controller modules from 4 vehicles in Clarksville

CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Clarksville Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying two suspects involved in a string of vehicle burglaries in April.

On April 20, at approximately 1 p.m., two suspects burglarized four vehicles in the South Spring Street Area, according to CPD spokesman Scott Beaubien. During these incidents, the two unlawfully entered the vehicles and removed the common powertrain controller (CPC) module from each one.

According to The ECU Pro website, the CPC is an important electronic module that helps the engine, transmission and brakes talk to each other. If it detects any issues in the communication, it turns off the throttle. One of the most common signs of a failed CPC is a dead throttle…
