Clarksville semi-truck theft highlights growing national issue amid chip shortage

CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — A costly and concerning theft unfolded at a Day Transfer lot in Clarksville, where four semi-trucks were broken into early Wednesday morning.

The suspects smashed windows and stole essential truck components known as Common Powertrain Controllers (CPCs) — high-value parts that serve as the central computing system in large commercial vehicles.
