MNPD: Man arrested in Texas in connection with deadly shooting on Woodale Lane

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — The Metro Nashville Police Department announced that a man wanted in connection with a deadly shooting on Woodale Lane last month was arrested in Texas Tuesday night.

The MNPD said that on Sunday, May 18, Kelveonna Holmes, her 24-year-old boyfriend and their 3-year-old son went to a residence in the 2400 block of Woodale Lane to visit. The three were still in their vehicle when another car passed in front of the home and fired shots. Metro Nashville dispatch told News 2 the incident was called in at about 12:22 p.m.

Arriving officers rendered aid to Holmes before she was transported to Skyline Medical Center where she died from her injuries. Her boyfriend sustained a graze wound and was treated and released from the hospital. The child was not physically harmed.

An investigation by the MNPD’s Homicide Unit led to the recovery of the involved car in Cheatham County. They also developed 21-year-old Dhaeton Hodge as a suspect.

Police said that Hodge was taken into custody at a Fort Worth-area motel and he’s been charged with criminal homicide as well as two counts of attempted criminal homicide. As of publication, he’s being held as a fugitive pending his return to Nashville…
