Dog Days of Summer event at animal shelter sees good turnout, pets adopted

The 400-Mile Yard Sale is wrapping for another year, but it served not just as a vehicle for bargain hunting—it also was the host for numerous fundraising efforts for non-profits.

That includes the Dog Days of Summer event that was held all weekend at the Christian County Regional Animal Shelter, where they invited vendors to come set up while they offered reduced costs on adoptions, microchipping and nail trimming services and more.

The rain did put a bit of a damper on the event, but Director Melissa Goff says that didn’t stop a lot of folks from turning out and supporting their local animal shelter…
