Tennessee: Body Found in Cumberland River This Week Identified as 29-Year-Old Woman

Nashville, TN – A woman’s body recovered from the Cumberland River in Cheatham County has been identified as a 29-year-old from Nashville who went missing earlier this month.

According to the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, the victim has been confirmed through fingerprint analysis as Taylor Powell. Authorities say she entered the river on June 6 near Anthes Drive in Nashville and was last seen swimming near the river’s east bank before going underwater after coming into contact with a docked barge.

Powell’s body was recovered Thursday from the Cumberland River. Investigators say no foul play is suspected at this time, though an autopsy is still pending…
