After months of planning, countless hours of rehearsals and the reuniting of a couple dozen of local musicians who dominated the Clarksville music scene in the ’60s and ’70s, Rockin’ Clarksville came to life at the Customs House Museum & Cultural Center.
Frank Lott’s vision was inspired by a conversation with Mark Hawkins about a year ago, when Hawkins informed him that he had been meeting and hanging out with some of the guys that used to spend their weekend nights making the rounds at the clubs and venues of Clarksville, many of which are no longer here.
Saturday’s program featured five bands, each with a different lineup, performing hit songs from “back in the day.” There was a matinee performance and an evening performance in the Turner Auditorium, and a very festive reception in the museum’s lobby in between…
