City regulations for using fireworks, July Fourth events around Christian County

HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – With Independence Day quickly approaching and red and white striped tents popping up across the county, fireworks will ring out through Hopkinsville and Christian County leading up to the big day. There are a few events planned where the public is invited to July Fourth celebrations full of fireworks, with the city also reminding people of regulations in place for independent use.

The Hopkinsville Fire Department is encouraging people to celebrate responsibly this July Fourth by always have a water source nearby to prevent a fire. Adult supervision should always be present when children are there, and fireworks should not be aimed at other people, vehicles, or structures.

Fireworks are permitted to be used within the Hopkinsville city limits between July 1 and July 5 to celebrate Independence Day. They can be used between 10 a.m. and after midnight at 12:30 a.m.
