‘This fight is just beginning’: Songwriter joins fight against TVA plant in Cheatham County

CHEATHAM COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — Two Cheatham County musicians are taking a stand, fighting back against a proposed TVA power plant they say could destroy their land and future.

Cheatham County resident and musician Mo Pitney and fellow artist John Rich are using their voices and music to rally against the Tennessee Valley Authority’s plan to build a methane gas plant in their community.

“I built this house in 2020 when we had almost no money,” Pitney explained. “I am stalled, knowing this is going to happen. Should I put any more effort into this land?”
