2,000 military families receive free groceries from Fort Care

FORT CAMPBELL, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – Volunteers distributed Fort Care Honor Packages filled with essential groceries to 2,000 military families. On July 3, the non-profit organization set up their operation at Fryar Stadium, catering to a steady stream of vehicles driving in to receive free packages.

Hundreds of pounds of food were packed and distributed during this event, including snack food items, sweets, drinks, and groceries for cooking. Each free package was quickly loaded into vehicles by volunteers, allowing for families to quickly pass through.

Fort Care Team Director Shana Armstrong told Christian County Now that this distribution was made possible due to local collaborations with the Oak Grove Walmart, Sam’s Club, and Yaipak. She also offered special thanks to the Garrison Chaplin and staff on base.

The non-profit and their volunteers hold regular Honor Package Grocery Giveaways as a way to honor military members, families, and veterans for their gallant efforts and sacrifices.
