Two new storm shelters installed in Robertson County

ROBERTSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — Robertson County Emergency Medical Services personnel installed new tornado shelters this week.

On Tuesday, July 1, above-ground shelters were installed in the Coopertown and Cedar Hill EMS stations. They offer protection from all types of severe weather, including EF-5 tornadoes.

According to Brent Dyer — director of Robertson County EMS — the shelters cost about $6,100 each. He said the price tag fit into their budget, so they didn’t have to ask for additional funds. Dyer said the investment will go a long way to protect both his first responders and his community…
