Annual Steam Threshing Show returns to Adams next week

Beginning next Friday, hundreds of people will descend on Adams for the oldest continual steam threshing show in the South, a long-standing event that cherishes a central part of the farming community’s history.

On July 17-19, the Tennessee-Kentucky Threshermen’s Association will host their annual Steam Threshing Show, located at 7615 Hwy. 41 North.

The organization is named after the thresher machine, which was used in the farming process during the 19th and early 20th century to separate wheat or grain. During those years, a large steam engine was required to generate the power needed to run the thresher…
