Draw down planned for lake in Montgomery Bell State Park

DICKSON COUNTY, Tenn. (WKRN) — One of the lakes within Montgomery Bell State Park will be completely drawn down, which will restrict access for at least a year.

Lake Woodhaven will be drawn down as part of a long-term comprehensive habitat restoration plan, according to a release.

The process will begin on July 21 and is expected to last at least one year. Visitors to the park will not be able to be on the lake during that time.

The lake, which is fed by Hall Spring, will return to its stream environment after the drawdown, according to the state parks department. Much of the area around the lake will be muddy during the process, but nearby facilities are expected to remain open…
