Nashville, Tenn. – Middle Tennessee is set for dangerously high temperatures Thursday, with a heat advisory warning in effect for Nashville, Clarksville, Murfreesboro, and surrounding cities as the heat index climbs to a stifling 107°F from noon until 7 p.m.
According to the National Weather Service in Nashville, the advisory covers Davidson, Williamson, Rutherford, Montgomery, and more than a dozen other counties from Stewart to Giles. Officials warn that the combination of soaring temperatures and humidity may trigger heat-related illnesses, especially for those without access to air conditioning.
Major cities—including Franklin, Columbia, and Shelbyville—are urged to limit outdoor activity, drink plenty of fluids, and check on elderly neighbors.
