The Robertson County government has begun active discussions and negotiations with City of Springfield officials and other local municipalities after recently learning that the city plans to stop issuing water taps outside its urban growth boundary by spring of next year.
At their monthly meeting on July 21, county attorney Clyde Richert addressed the Robertson County Commission about the city’s plans and the county’s efforts so far in finding replacement water services for affected residents, particularly those in northern parts of the county and the Coopertown area.
According to Richert, Robertson County Mayor Billy Vogle first became aware several weeks ago that the Springfield Board of Mayor and Aldermen had passed the first reading of a resolution in September 2024, with final passage in October, that establishes a date of May of 2026 when the city will no longer issue any water taps outside its planned urban growth boundary…
