HENDERSON, Ky. (WEHT) – A woman was arrested on several charges over the weekend after Madisonville Police say she attempted to flee from police in a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol with two small children in the backseat of her car.
According to authorities, officers were dispatched to a report of a reckless driver at the intersection of East Center Street and Madison Square just before 9 p.m. on Saturday. The caller reported that a vehicle had struck a bridge on North Main, causing damage to the vehicle. The reporter told authorities that a woman appeared to be under the influence, and was attempting to secure an infant in a car seat.
An officer arrived at the scene and reported the vehicle was dragging its rear bumper, and that the vehicle had no working brake lights or tail lamps. While attempting to initiate a traffic stop, authorities say the driver sped through the intersection and continued southbound on I-69…
