Joelton man accused of attempted homicide for severely beating father

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — A man is accused of severely beating his 64-year-old father inside their home on Clarksville Pike, according to Metro Nashville police.

The incident occurred earlier that afternoon at the residence in the 5600 block of Clarksville Pike. Upon arrival, officers say they found the victim with visible bleeding on his face, neck, and arms, with lacerations on the top of his head, and injuries to both arms. He was transported to TriStar Skyline Medical Center for treatment and has since been released.

Police say an argument between David Beranek, 28, and his father escalated when Beranek allegedly took a pistol from his father during a struggle. A magazine reportedly fell from the weapon during the altercation, after which the father ran to seek help…
