CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The Montgomery County Commission met Monday for their formal meeting, which included voting on and approving a series of resolutions. Here’s the top three takeaways.
1. $2 million toward stormwater improvements
In a resolution looking to amend the 2025-26 fiscal year budget, Montgomery County proposed for $2 million to be allocated toward a stormwater improvement project near Exit 8. This comes after heavy flooding affected the area, such as in the Farmington subdivision and properties along Dunlop Lane.
During last Monday’s meeting, Mayor Wes Golden said that the Industrial Development Board has sold property near Exit 8, and the county’s proceeds will be what is allocated toward the stormwater improvement project.
“As our residents continue to recover, we want them to know they are not alone,” Golden previously told Clarksville Now. “We also want to assure residents that we now have a budget allocation on the table to support long-term solutions to manage stormwater in the hardest-hit unincorporated areas of the county, and we won’t stop until those solutions are in place.”…
