CLARKSVILLE, TN − The Montgomery County Prevention Coalition will host the third annual RecoveryFest on Saturday, Oct. 11, at McGregor Park. The free event will run from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and will feature activities and resources to support recovery efforts in the community.
This family-friendly event is dedicated to raising awareness, reducing stigma, and celebrating the strength and resilience of those on the journey of recovery from addiction and mental health challenges.
We are honored to welcome an inspiring lineup of guest speakers, including:
- Dr. Stephen Loyd, former Assistant Commissioner for Substance Use Services for the State of Tennessee and a nationally recognized advocate for individuals battling substance use disorders. He is a key contributor to Tennessee’s pain treatment practices , focusing on opioid-dependent pregnant women. He inspired a character in the documentary “Dopesick”. Loyd has been in recovery from opioid and benzodiazepine addiction since July 8, 2004.
- Hannah Binkley, MEd- A resilient survivor of gun violence who has served the Montgomery County Recovery Community since 2020 in various roles providing therapeutic services at local non-profits. She has immersed herself into helping others navigate their individual personal journey. She is a firm believer in walking in alignment with purpose, and the immense benefits of living a life filled with gratitude and using the time given with purpose and passion.
- Three courageous local speakers from our own community who will share their personal stories of recovery
