Cheatham County couple charged after crash in stolen vehicle chase, bound over to grand jury

Two suspects are lucky to be alive after a recent police chase that ended with a crash on the interstate.

According to a Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office arrest report, a deputy observed a black Nissan Maxima with an obstructed license plate pass by on July 28. As the deputy began pursuit, he thought he recognized the driver, but was unable to confirm it.

The vehicle reportedly refused to stop as it traveled onto Interstate 24 East from New Hope Road. The Maxima allegedly reached speeds of 122 miles per hour as it headed towards the Davidson County line. The driver attempted to pass an 18-wheeler, only to crash into its side.
