HOPKINSVILLE, KY (CHRISTIAN COUNTY NOW) – On Aug. 27, the manager of Rural King in Hopkinsville reported that an unknown suspect had stolen two sets of impact drills, worth $499 each. This led to the arrest of two people and meth trafficking charges.
According to an arrest report from Hopkinsville Police, surveillance video from the store showed a white vehicle pull up to the front of the store and the suspect enter the building. He was later seen making his way to the emergency exit out of sight of the cameras. Once leaving the building, the suspect ran south toward the Showbox Movie Theater where he was picked up by the same vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as Lauren Shears from Winchester, Tennessee, was located later that afternoon at a motel on Richard Mills Drive in reference to her not paying a $97 bill for a taxi service. When officers approached her hotel room, the stolen materials were in plain sight, and she admitted to being the getaway driver for the theft…
