CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – Around 16 acres of land is looking to be donated to the city to create a new park in northeast Clarksville, to include the development of a ball field as well.
According to city documents, John T. Rochford of Nashville has agreed to donate approximately 16 acres of open space off Tylertown Road, near a subdivision called Reserve at Oakland, for the purpose of a park development.
The property is just east of Oakland Road and Meriwether Road and is bounded by Current Road on the north and Spring Creek on the south.
Councilperson Stacey Streetman said the park would be located within Ward 12, which is one area in the city that has been lacking park space for some time now. “This will be extremely beneficial to us, and we appreciate this donation from Mr. Rochford,” she said…
