‘Implication of guilt’: Instacart shopper wrongly shamed as credit card fraud suspect in police department Facebook post, lawsuit says

A woman is suing a Tennessee police department after it allegedly mistook her for a credit card fraud suspect in a Facebook post asking for the public’s help identifying her.

Courtney Miller was not a thief but an unwitting Instacart shopper who used the stolen credit card without knowing it was stolen, according to a lawsuit filed in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. Miller filed the civil rights and deliberate indifference suit last month against the Clarksville Police Department.
