JOELTON, Tenn. (WSMV) – The Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a string of mail thefts in the northern part of the county and the Joelton area.
Deputies believe thieves are targeting mailboxes, looking for checks inside.
Then, the thieves are manipulating the checks by changing the pay to section and amounts and, in turn, cashing those checks at local banks.
