Update, 4:15 p.m.: 18 holes of back-and-forth action wasn’t enough, as Hanley Long and Ina Kim-Schaad needed a shootout to decide the winner of the U.S. Women’s Golf Mid-Amateur Championship. In extra time, which included 5 additional holes, Kim-Schaad was declared the winner after hitting a birdie on hole 23.
The two golfers were tied going into the final hole thanks to Long sinking a birdie on hole 17. Then, each golfer shot +1 on 18 to force the shootout.
Update, 1: 18 p.m.: Long is now tied with Kim-Schaad through 12 holes after hitting back-to-back birdies on two par 5’s…
