CLARKSVILLE, TN – Visit Clarksville announces the appointment of Col. (retired) Jonathan (Jon) Hunter to its Board of Directors. Hunter was jointly appointed by the Clarksville and Montgomery County mayors to fulfill the term vacated by former Austin Peay State University Athletic Director Gerald Harrison, who relocated to West Virginia.
Hunter is the Chief Operating Officer for the Fort Campbell Historical Foundation, which is building the Tennessee Wings of Liberty Museum slated to open in the spring of 2026. The museum will honor the Soldiers of Fort Campbell and its legendary 101st Airborne Division, 5th Special Forces Group, and 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment. As an Army Officer and Army Civilian Hunter served over 14 years at Fort Campbell, including extensive time as the Fort Campbell Deputy Garrison Commander. He is also active in the local community having served on the Charter Commission, the County Fire Committee, and the 911 Board.
During its September meeting, the board of directors also elected Holiday Inn General Manager Patricia Allende to serve as its Vice-Chair. Allende is a seasoned hospitality professional with over 30 years of experience in the industry. She currently serves as the general manager of the full-service Holiday Inn Clarksville Northeast and Burger Theory Restaurant, where she played an instrumental role in the hotel’s opening in February 2022.
