CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Austin Peay State University will cover tuition assistance for active duty, reserve and National Guard students enrolled in Fall B courses if the government shutdown continues past Wednesday.
Those students would not receive funding from the Military Tuition Assistance program after Wednesday, Oct. 15, if the shutdown continues, the school said.

The program gives students $250 per credit hour with a cap of $4,500 per fiscal year. The money is distributed to each student from their branch of service, but the government shutdown has suspended the payments.
“Austin Peay has a proud history of supporting our military and our military-affiliated students,” APSU President Mike Licari said in a Tuesday press release. “This decision ensures that service members using Tuition Assistance at Austin Peay can stay focused on their educational goals and know that we are here to support them.”…
